The Course

A course that feels established beyond its years.

Although New Forest opened in 2006, its mature woodland boundaries, natural contours and estate setting give it the feel of a long-established Irish parkland course.

The course rewards accuracy and good course management rather than brute force alone. Fairways are framed by trees, hazard areas come into play throughout the round, and the putting surfaces are a major part of the experience.

Course Highlights

Strategic holes, proper tests and memorable scoring chances.

New Forest gives visitors a round with variety: demanding par 4s, reachable par 5s, long par 3s and the distinctive 9th by the estate’s walled garden.

Holes 4 & 12Two of the toughest par 4s on the course, both measuring around 450 yards and asking for accuracy from tee to green.
Signature 9thA memorable par 3 beside the estate’s walled garden, giving the front nine a strong finish.
Holes 10 to 13A pivotal stretch where good rounds can be built or undone. It gives the course its real competitive edge.
Birdie chancesThe short par 4 3rd and reachable par 5s at 5 and 17 reward confident, well-managed play.

Practice & Coaching

Warm up, practise properly and work on your game.

The Golf Academy should be a key part of the New Forest offer, especially for visitors, members and golfers booking lessons.

The practice facilities include a 300-yard floodlit practice bay, short game areas and coaching support. This makes New Forest more than a round of golf: it is a place to improve, prepare and enjoy the game more often.

Recognition

Consistently ranked among Ireland’s Top 100 courses.

New Forest is recognised in the Irish Golfer Top 100 Courses in Ireland and has hosted major Golf Ireland competitions, including the Irish Boys Championship in 2019.

That recognition gives the Golf page an important trust signal: visitors are not just booking any round, they are choosing a course with a proven reputation for quality and challenge.
